Concert: Multi-Cultural Salute to Black History Month: An Afternoon of World Premieres -
Jazz, Concert and Jazz-Influenced Concert Musics (Series Event #1)
Music by Eight LiCA members to be performed.
(Works by Fourteen LICA member/composers are represented in this 4 event series.)
This concert will feature performances by vocalists Tara Nova, Natalya Simone and TOMOKO, pianists Paul Hefner, Rob Schwimmer and Jay Anthony Gach, saxophonist/flutist/vocalist Cecilia Tenconi, bassist Wilbur Bascomb, drummer Ken Hassler, latin percussionist Ed Martinez, and the South Nassau Unitarian Universalist Congregation Drum Ministry “The DrUUmatics”, playing West African rhythms.
When: Sunday, Feb. 5th. Concert at 1PM, Reception and Art Exhibit from 3-4PM
Where: South Nassau Unitarian Universalist Congregation (SNUUC), 228 South Ocean Ave., Freeport, NY 11520
Immediately following the concert the SNUUC Art Committee will open a themed exhibit featuring Young Black Artists, coinciding with a meet the musicians and artists reception.
Tickets: $15,seniors and LICA members, $10,and high school students $5.

A Vocal Recital featuring “The Three Divas: Tara Nova, Natalya Simone and Mellissa Abrahams.” (Series Event #2)

When: Friday, Feb.10th at 7:30PM
Where: Hecksher Museum of Art, 2 Prime Ave., Huntington, NY 11743
Immediately following the concert the Hecksher Museum of Art will open a themed exhibit featuring Living Black Artists, coinciding with a meet the musicians and artists reception.
Tickets: $20, $15 for Seniors, Museum members and LICA members.

flutist Alice Jones, bassist Wilbur Bascomb, drummer Victor Jones, guitarist/vocalist Richard Boukas, latin percussionist Ed Martinez, The Brasil Guitar Duo (courtesy of Concert Artists Guild), and the South Nassau Unitarian Universalist Congregation Drum Ministry “The DrUUmatics”, playing West African rhythms.
